Our Use-Cases

How does the cooperation with AVAD work and what do you benefit from? How can different partner manufacturers be integrated and large projects be handled smoothly? Using various practical examples, we will show you how we proceed and what your partnership with AVAD could look like.

Use-Case 1: Modernization of the telephone and emergency call system in a retirement home

Initial situation

Our partner "Systemhaus" from Germany acquires a new customer - a retirement home. The telephone and emergency call solution installed there so far, which is about 15 years old, is to be renewed due to discontinuation of manufacturer support.

Preparation

Together with the partner, AVAD analyzes the hardware and software versions of the installed systems. In the next step, AVAD and the partner develop a three-step plan for migrating the installed overall solution to IP. Upgrades, or rather the replacement of hardware and software components, are also considered.

Execution

  • The smooth migration spreads the necessary investment costs for the senior care home over two years and avoids a costly tendering process. The customer is thus still bound to the partner in long-term.
  • AVAD supports the selection of the most suitable DECT system. On the one hand, this system should be available within the planned implementation period, and on the other hand, it should correspond to the budget of the project.
  • AVAD technicians train the partner's technicians on the new DECT system for the partner in the course of remote installation.
  • The existing software solutions - installed on servers that can no longer be serviced - are upgraded and virtualized on a new VMWare server pre-installed by AVAD and delivered pre-installed for the partner. This reduces the switchover time during commissioning and offers significantly faster recovery times for the partner in case of failures.
  • AVAD delivers the required products and services on time to the partner or directly to the customer's site in accordance with the project schedule.

Use-Case 2: X

Initial situation

A new nursing home is being built and our partner is commissioned to install the required network technology. Cross-linked telephone systems as well as alarm solutions, each including terminal devices, are to be available.

Preparation

Together with AVAD, the partner ascertains the needs of the final customer and, based on this, draws up a list of all the elements required. In consultation with the partner, AVAD contacts the various partner manufacturers.

Execution

  • PBX telephones and conference equipment are installed on site for the central infrastructure for administration and patients
  • A SIP provider for connecting the PBX system to the public network is set up
  • A nurse call system as well as alarm forwarding, for example, of pear push buttons, bath selectors, heart alarms or pathfinder protection/dementia protection will be configured. Spectralink DECT and smartphones are integrated for mobile alerting and accessibility of medical staff
  • LANCOM products are installed to provide network infrastructure for IP telephones, DECT transmitters, and WLAN for administration and guest areas. WAN access security is provided by unified firewalls
  • Mobile device management guarantees the administration of the smartphones and tablets of the nursing staff
  • Large touch displays for presentations etc. are provided
